What are NSAIDs?

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are medications commonly used for pain relief and reduce inflammation and fevers. Common NSAIDs are Aspirin and Ibuprofen. NSAIDs are typically broken down into two classes: selective vs non-selective. Selective NSAIDs are typically associated with less GI side effects Examples of each are listed below.

Selective:
Advil
Motrin
Ibuprofen
Ketorolac

Non-Selective:
Aspirin
Naproxen (Aleve)
